Ministry of Information and Communications launches campaign to support digital technology enterprises to go to the world
On the morning of February 23, in Hanoi, the conference "Vietnam Digital Technology Enterprises go to the world" organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications officially opened.
Attending the conference were Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung; Deputy Ministers of Information and Communications Phan Tam, Pham Duc Long; representatives of domestic technology enterprises, specialized associations and representatives of embassies, international consulting organizations, foreign trade promotion agencies in Vietnam.
Speaking at the opening of the conference, Deputy Minister Phan Tam said that in recent years, Vietnamese digital technology enterprises have grown rapidly in both quantity and competitiveness, have been providing digital products, services and solutions for the acceleration of digital transformation, develop the country's digital economy and digital society. Thereby, contributing to narrowing the digital gap globally, joining hands with the international business community to build a digital world for a brighter future.
After the Covid-19 pandemic was controlled, the demand for digital transformation exploded in the world, creating a huge market for digital technology products and services. At the same time, the digital divide and the accessibility of people in many rural areas, especially developing and underdeveloped countries, remains a huge challenge.
Statistics from the International Telecommunication Union - ITU show that the world still has about 49% of the population (i.e. nearly 4 billion people) who are not connected to the Internet, do not have access to digital technology services. "This is an opportunity for Vietnamese digital technology enterprises to expand their markets, bring their knowledge and technology to contribute to solving digital transformation problems in other countries, contributing to accelerating the process of building a digital world", Deputy Minister Phan Tam said.
According to the Deputy Minister, stemming from the above fact, in 2023, the Ministry of Information and Communications focuses on working with Vietnamese enterprises, digital technology associations, diplomatic missions, investment and trade representatives of other countries to promote and support Vietnamese digital technology enterprises to go to the world. The conference "Vietnam digital technology enterprises go to the world" is the beginning of this program.
The representative of the Ministry of Information and Communications emphasized that Vietnamese digital technology enterprises are entering a new stage of development, bringing Make in Vietnam digital products and services abroad, solving the problem of digital transformation, developing the digital economy of other countries, becoming global corporations and digital enterprises.
"The Ministry of Information and Communications and related agencies and organizations will accompany and stand side by side with businesses in this process. Vietnamese businesses will also unite, share and support each other, to bring Vietnamese knowledge and digital technology to conquer the world", Deputy Minister Phan Tam affirmed.
At the conference, on the basis of analyzing the potential for foreign market development of Vietnam's ICT industry, Mr. Nguyen Thien Nghia, Deputy Director General in charge of ICT Industry Department, Ministry of Information and Communications affirmed: The world technology market has many opportunities. Meanwhile, Vietnam's market size is too small when compared to the scale of IT service manpower today as well as in the future.
Vietnamese technology enterprises not only have the strength of dynamic and creative human resources but also the ability to compete on price compared to the global IT market. This is the reason for Vietnamese digital technology enterprises to go abroad, bring Vietnamese knowledge and technology to "open the realm".
"Going together" is one of the ways that the Ministry of Information and Communications orients technology businesses. Big business leads smaller business, first business leads business behind. The know-how and strategy of conquering the world market of pioneering enterprises will be valuable lessons, opening the direction for domestic technology enterprises to confidently enter the international market.

At the conference, domestic and international speakers focused on exchanging and sharing about opportunities and challenges for Vietnam's digital technology enterprises when going to the big sea. Specifically, the conference will share information on the development of Vietnamese digital technology enterprises, capacity, strengths, opportunities and challenges when investing and doing business abroad. Leaders of some businesses such as FPT, Viettel, NTQ Solution, KardiaChain shared experiences, lessons, approaches, good and effective solutions to exploit the markets of other countries.
Listening to the opinions and sharing of domestic and international delegates, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung emphasized that Vietnam is a country with many excellent digital technology enterprises, able to solve all global and local problems with digital technology.
Commenting that going abroad is a difficult but glorious task, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung pointed out that this is the mission of businesses to bring Vietnam to become a high-income developed country by 2045.
"Businesses should align their mission with the national mission. Tie your destiny to the destiny of the nation. And so the business develops sustainably and long-term. Because ethnicity and nation are enduring. Preserving the river, brightening the name of the river is the new mission of Vietnamese enterprises, especially Vietnamese digital technology enterprises", the Minister urged.
The head of the information and communications industry also had convincing analysis and evidence to affirm that Vietnamese digital technology enterprises need to go abroad and have the capacity and conditions to reach out globally.
According to the Minister, now is the time for Vietnamese digital technology enterprises to reach out to conquer the world: "The biggest opportunity when the world has great changes, when a new industrial revolution is taking place with many new technologies. The opportunity for a country to change its rankings is now."
Along with pointing out approaches based on Vietnam's core characteristics and strengths so that Vietnamese digital technology enterprises can successfully conquer the world, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung also detailed what the Ministry of Information and Communications has been doing and will do to help businesses go abroad.
With the view that "the State paves the way, the forerunners pull the latter", in the coming time, the Ministry of Information and Communications will continue to organize conferences, forums to promote digital trade investment, Vietnamese digital technology booths abroad; advising the government to sign agreements on digital partnerships with other countries. Each month, the Ministry of Information and Communications will organize at least 1 event to help digital technology businesses do business abroad or go abroad.
As an activity in the campaign to support Vietnamese digital technology enterprises doing business abroad or going abroad, within the framework of the conference, the Ministry of Information and Communications announced the establishment and launch of the "Advisory Group to support digital technology enterprises going abroad", to coordinate with relevant agencies in implementing programs to support Vietnamese technology enterprises to go abroad and develop business activities abroad.
